Unfiltered water contains harmful minerals and impurities from dirty, rusty pipes that can damage your skin and hair. Over time, this leads to weak hair follicles, scaly skin, and even flare-ups of psoriasis and eczema.

Unfortunately, many cities use chlorine to disinfect tap water. Chlorine has a sterilizing effect due to its strong oxidizing power, but it also damages proteins, which are the main component of skin and hair. The breakdown of proteins in the skin and hair increases the risk of skin diseases like eczema and often causes problems like itching, dandruff and hair loss.

Researchers at Boston University in the US have found that when you shower with hot water, volatile chemicals are absorbed through the lungs and skin. Inhaling fine spray mist in the shower is about six times more harmful than drinking the water!

Chlorine and copper levels in household water can cause color changes in blond hair. That's because the iron in hard water has an oxidizing effect, resulting in brassy, coppery tones.

Our product uses a two-stage filtration system and highly concentrated vitamin C to remove various foreign substances and residual chlorine. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) removes chlorine by neutralizing chlorinated water. The chemical structure of vitamin C interacts with the chlorine found in tap water to create a non-harmful, mild hydrochloric acid. The result is slightly acidic but clean water, ideal for the development of your hair and skin.

In addition, vitamin C is an environmentally friendly acid that reacts with limescale, making it water-soluble and harmless. Vitamin C is an acid similar to vinegar but much weaker. It can prevent soap scum from forming in hard water (i.e. water with a lot of minerals) by breaking down calcium carbonate into water-soluble compounds, water and CO2. This process allows your soaps and shampoos to do their jobs effectively and really cleans you.

The antioxidant effect of vitamin C protects damaged skin cells from UV rays and renews the cells, slowing down skin aging. But wait, there's more! Vitamin C is also:

• Improves hydration
• Reduces inflammation
• Helps in the formation of collagen and elastin

The amount of vitamin C in one filter is equivalent to 250 lemons! This is enough to purify your water and revitalize your skin and hair.

The gel inside the vitamin filter contains only natural ingredients. It consists of vitamin C, collagen, glycerin, natural essential oils and distilled water held together in a matrix of xanthan gum. Xanthan is a natural sugar molecule that is often used as a food thickener. Our research has shown that these ingredients are healthy for the human body. None of these ingredients are harmful to the human body.

Absolutely. The Picki Niki shower head is safety certified and can be used for all ages, including pregnant women, and all skin types. For people who are sensitive to fragrances, we recommend our "Unscented" vitamin filter without any fragrance.

If you have a skin condition, even a tiny amount of residual chlorine in tap water can make your symptoms worse. According to a study by Dr. Seki Taisuke from the University of Toyama in Japan, eczema patients are even more sensitive to residual chlorine than people without skin disease.

ONE PERSON: Our vitamin filter should be changed every month, the sediment filter can be changed less frequently, every two to three months. 

MORE THAN ONE PERSON: If more than one person uses the shower head, the less time it will last. Note: The replacement cycle may vary depending on the temperature and amount of water used, the quality of the water in the home, and the condition of the plumbing.

You can check the condition of the filter in the shower head using the indicators.

Also, shower heads should be kept upright when NOT in use. This allows the water to flow out of the head and the vitamin gel lasts longer.

WE RECOMMEND: Why not take it with you on your travels? So you always have clean water everywhere! :D The ½ inch size is an international standard and fits any shower hose! (Not to forget that many hotels also have very bad water pressure. Two examples: in both Paris and Stockholm we had low pressure, smell of chlorine and hard water. And these are just the problems you can see or smell! )

Otherwise, shower heads should be kept upright when NOT in use. This allows the water to flow out of the head and the vitamin gel stays in place for longer.

The pre-installed water spray plate has 0.3mm wide holes that drastically increase the water pressure. If you already have very strong water pressure, that might be too much. The second deluge plate has larger holes of 0.35mm. Therefore you can choose the best option for your place. Keep the other one too, it will come in handy when you travel. Many hotels have poor water pressure.

Our sediment filters clean foreign matter without ALWAYS leaving visible traces or discolouring (usually too brown due to rust particles). During the filtration process, small particles can clog the dense filter fiber. When the water pressure drops significantly, it's time to replace the sediment filter, even if it still looks "good".

First disconnect the shower head and shower hose and drain the standing water. Then, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a plastic bag or bowl with water and place the shower hose and shower head in the mixture. If residue is still visible after an hour or less, scrub with a brush/toothbrush and rinse with water. If you want to give the sterilization an extra kick, add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to the mixture.
